Well said. The writer-priest analog is very effective. And "fiction as prayer for strangers"... what a tag.

Thank you Emily, I'm glad it speaks to you! It's so great to know these things resonate with others as well. :) I think we're all reaching that point where enough is enough. Time to get back to reality. Cheers!

I would agree with this because I've seen it with my writing, whether more obvious or on the subtle side based upon the feedback I have on my stories. We all have a voice that includes our perspective on life which we bring to the writing table.

Hi Althea, I'm so glad it resonated with you! My hope is that we can all think deeply about what we're doing as fictioneers and do it even better and more intentionally. Cheers! :)

I hadn't thought abut it quite this way until I started the Asgard series, but even in the SciFi, there were strong threads of this, and yes, most of it was deliberate, but also worked in naturally, organically in the story. The new series, from the origins of the idea, has been focused on some key values you don't often see in epic fantasy, especially teamwork in marriage that carries over into fighting side by side. This article does an excellent job of clarifying and explaining something we do on an almost instinctive level. Thank you!
